How to Open Your Third Eye?
Recently, someone sent me this question:
“I'm a Psychology graduate, and we normally dismiss talking about these things. We believe that this can attract negative entities and goes against the teachings of the Bible. I'm just wondering if I have this gift as well. Can this gift be developed?”
Many of us have psychic abilities, but not all of them are active or developed. Sometimes, because of fear, upbringing, or the beliefs we grew up with, we choose to ignore this part of ourselves.
In this article, I will share how I discovered and developed my own gifts. I hope this can help those who want to understand their own abilities more, whether for personal growth or their spiritual journey.
1. Educate Yourself
At first, I was really afraid. My father was strict, and he would say that these things came from the devil. I was also active in church back then, so I thought that this kind of thing was truly wrong.
But I was also exposed to my grandmother’s healing rituals. She was the one who treated us whenever we were sick. Through her, I saw that when this gift is used properly, it is not something bad.
I also had visions that later came true, such as the bus accident we almost experienced on our way to Bicol, where we nearly fell into a ravine. That became a major eye-opener for me.
Instead of letting fear control me, I tried to understand what was happening. I collected newspaper clippings, wrote in my journal, and read about occult, spirituality, and other related topics.
Little by little, my fear lessened, and I became more open to understanding these experiences.
2. Find Your Deep Purpose
When I was young, life was difficult for our family. My father did not have permanent work, and my mother was sick.
Because of that, I thought that if I learned divination, maybe I could help myself and my family.
I had many dreams back then. I wanted to improve my life, help my mother heal, and give my family a better life.
That was when I decided that I would use this gift for my personal growth and to help my family. It was not just a hobby or something I wanted to try for fun. For me, it had a deeper purpose.
3. Apply What You Learn
Little by little, I applied everything I learned. In high school, a classmate gave me oracle cards, and that was where I started practicing.
I would draw a card almost daily to ask for guidance with my decisions.
Later on, I also studied astrology and numerology. I used them to understand myself better, identify the weaknesses I needed to work on, and maximize my strengths.
Through the guidance I received, I found a job, helped my family, and was able to return to school.
When I was already able to help myself and my family, I also started helping others. That was when I understood more deeply that this kind of gift is not bad when used properly. It only becomes wrong when it is used to deceive, take advantage of, or harm other people.
4. Find the Right Guidance
It is also important to have the right guidance, whether through mentors or a community that is aligned with your values.
Be careful with people who use this kind of knowledge for fame, control, or power trips.
Choose mentors who have real wisdom and use their gifts to help others sincerely and properly. You will see this not only in what they say, but also in their actions and intentions.
So, Is It Possible That You Have a Gift?
Yes, it is possible.
All of us have intuitive or spiritual gifts, but not all of them are developed or active. What matters is whether you are ready to acknowledge them, study them properly, and use them in the right way.
I hope these tips help you if you are just starting your spiritual journey. Trust your process, use your gifts with good intention, and always stay grounded.
