Free Online Horoscopes: Are They Really Accurate?

These days, there are so many daily or monthly horoscopes online. That’s why it’s not surprising that a lot of people use them as a guide when making decisions. But if you’re one of them, be careful, making choices based only on a free and generalized horoscope might lead to regrets later on.

Why do I say they’re not accurate?

Even if you check the current planetary positions and the zodiac signs involved, it’s still not enough to give an accurate forecast.

For example, if you look at the image above, you’ll see that Mercury is in Sagittarius at 14°20'. So technically, you might say it’s an auspicious time for Sagittarians when it comes to studying or learning, because Mercury is the planet of communication and knowledge. With this placement, it’s easier to share ideas and absorb new information.

But astrological interpretations aren’t one-size-fits-all. They depend on the unique aspects of your own birth chart. Let’s say your Mercury is in Sagittarius, but it has a challenging aspect like a square that might bring issues in communication. But if the aspect is harmonious, like a trine, you’ll really feel the positive effects of Mercury in Sagittarius. That’s why you can’t rely on a generalized horoscope for everyone. Each person has a different planetary setup.

Your Zodiac Sign Isn’t Enough to Describe Your Whole Personality

I’m a Pisces, which means my Sun sign is Pisces (what people usually call your zodiac sign). This reflects my basic personality, sensitive, intuitive, and emotional. But that alone doesn’t represent my entire personality. You also have to consider your Rising Sign and Moon Sign.

Rising Sign (Ascendant)

My Rising Sign is Cancer. That’s the sign that was on the eastern horizon at the exact time and location of my birth. Because of that, even though Pisces is naturally introverted, I can still interact with others and tune in to their emotions. My Cancer rising helps me come across as warm, caring, and approachable.

Moon Sign

My Moon Sign is also Pisces. So that doubles my emotional sensitivity and intuition. I’m really affected by the energy around me, and honestly, I don’t enjoy jokes that feel a bit insulting because I tend to take things to heart. But now that I’m aware of this, I’ve learned how to manage those tendencies better, and understanding my natal chart has helped a lot in that process.
